Emsella is our patients’ go-to urinary incontinence treatment in Newburgh, helping those with weak pelvic floor muscles, a common condition for women after childbirth. These muscles play a crucial role in bladder control and preventing accidents. This treatment uses electromagnetic technology to contract and strengthen these muscles to increase your bladder control.

Urinary Incontinence
Beyond improving bladder control, Emsella can also enhance sexual health and wellness by strengthening the pelvic floor. Aging, hormonal changes, and childbirth can lead to reduced blood flow and decreased sensitivity in your genitals over time. By empowering the muscles that support the bladder, rectum, and uterus, Emsella can make your sex life vastly more enjoyable.
There are a stunning number of root causes that can contribute to a weak pelvic floor, from incessant coughing to childbirth and simply getting older. If you fall into any of these categories, don’t worry, you’re not alone.
A recent NICHD-funded study showed a link between vaginal delivery and an increased risk for pelvic floor disorders. We love mothers at Cady Wellness Institute, and we want you to experience the joys of bladder control and improved sexual wellness. Enjoy more time with your loved ones without constantly running to the bathroom or to the store for more pads.
In order to get the same pelvic floor conditioning as a single Emsella treatment, you would have to do 11,000 Kegel contractions by volitional motor control roughly every 4 seconds. This would take you 1/3rd of a year to get to 11,000 contractions if you did them 24 hours a day, and almost an entire year if you did them for 8 hours stretches every day. In short, Emsella turbocharges the effects of Kegel’s and decreases the total time from one year to 28 minutes of active treatment.
Things to do:
- Share your complete medical history with us during your initial consultation.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment.
- Leave all of your electronics and metallic objects outside of the treatment room, including piercings and clothing with metal buttons, as these interfere with the treatment.
- Inform your provider if you have an IUD.
Things to do:
- For longer-lasting results, practice rejuvenating exercises like Kegels daily.
- Hydrate between treatments. Consistent hydration supports the effects of the treatment and the strengthening of muscle fibers in the pelvic floor.
- Maintain a consistent, nutrient-rich, high-protein diet, eating foods such as eggs, walnuts, legumes, kale, salmon, and quinoa.
Eat branched-chain amino acids and drink high-protein shakes to help feed your muscles so that they can strengthen.
Things to avoid:
- Moderate your liquid intake to prevent worsened urinary incontinence issues.
- Be cautious and moderate your intake of coffee, tea, and fizzy drinks that may irritate the bladder.
- Stop smoking. Smoker’s cough may put pressure on your bladder, resulting in unforeseen leakage. Smoking will also raise your risk of bladder cancer, and it accounts for half of the cases of bladder cancer in women and men.
Yes, absolutely! The restorative effects of our Emsella Chair help our male patients take back control of their sexual health and urinary incontinence, too.
Increased blood flow to your pelvic floor leads may lead to mightier erections, increased pleasure, and powerful ejaculation. With treatment, you can return to bed renewed and readier than ever for sexual intimacy.
Men who find themselves waking up in the middle of the night to urinate will also be pleased to know that Emsella helps address common episodes of urinary frequency and urinary urgency. Treatments with Emsella condition the pelvic floor muscles, preventing leakages and unexpected trips to the restroom.
That’s the type of thinking we love to see at Cady Wellness Institute! And yes, we encourage it. Patients who pair Emsculpt NEO and Emsella enjoy enhanced control over critical muscles.
We can treat the muscle separation in your abdomen with Emsculpt NEO, and treat urinary incontinence with the Emsella device. Strengthening your abdominal muscles may also improve mobility and back pain.
This combination of treatments is often referred to as Core to Floor Therapy. It pinpoints the abdomen and pelvic floor muscles for targeted improvements. Patients schedule Emsculpt NEO treatments with Emsella for numerous reasons, but here are some statistics to consider:
- 5% of people after the age of 30 lose roughly 3 to 5% of their muscle mass per decade.
- 26% of people with back discomfort blamed weakened muscles on lack of exercise and control over their bodies.
- 67% of women with abdominal separation due to childbirth end up with weakened pelvic floor muscles.
